Dole out poker chips to players and decide the minimum stake for the game. Start out by making the pot wherein the player to the left of the dealer will put in a small blind that's half of the minimum wager. The next player will then place chips equal to the minimum stake called the big blind to the pot.
Players are then handed two cards called pockets or hole cards in Texas holdem. Nobody sees these pockets except the respective players who were dealt them.
A betting round starts clockwise around the table and it starts with the player to the left of the player who posted the big blind. One can call or match the big blind, raise the stake or fold their pockets. These options are generally the same in all poker variants.
Texas holdem directions continue after remaining players have placed equal amounts to the pot. Three cards are shown in the middle of the table and these are named the flop. Everyone will use them together with their hole cards to make a good poker hand.
After the flop, the betting round starts with the player to the left of the dealer. That player can either make a bet or check. By checking, it means to state a zero wager. A fourth community card called the turn is placed at the center of the table and a betting round starts again. Afterwards, a last common card is shown called the river and the final betting sequence begins.
Finally, players who are still holding their hole cards after the round will show their pockets. Whoever makes the highest poker hand of five cards by mixing their hole cards with board cards will win the pot money. Players will keep following these Texas holdem directions repeatedly.
